The station is part of the Hercules project, an Andalusian initiative coordinated by Hynergreen. Funding provided by: • Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia (IDEA) • Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) • Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Science (MICINN) • European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) It has been classified as a Strategic and Singular Scientific-Technology Project. The Hercules project, which began in January 2006, involves the following 8 partners: Hynergreen Technologies, Abengoa Solar New Technologies, Santana Motor, Carburos Metálicos (Air Products), GreenPower Technologies, the Andalusian Energy Agency (AAE), the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), and the Andalusian Association for Research and Industrial Cooperation (AICIA)
